Referring a patient to AlHayat Medical Center

AlHayat Medical Center accepts patient referrals from general practitioners, specialists in private practice, and physicians at other healthcare centers across Kuwait. We work closely with referring physicians to ensure continuity of care, timely communication, and a clear clinical pathway back to the original physician after the patient has been seen at our center.

Specialties accepting referrals

• Obstetrics and Gynecology, including maternal-fetal medicine and high-risk pregnancy
• Assisted Reproduction (IVF, ICSI, IUI) and fertility preservation
• Andrology and male fertility
• Dermatology, laser and aesthetic dermatology
• General and laparoscopic surgery
• Plastic and reconstructive surgery
• Dentistry — including endodontics and prosthodontics
• Radiology and diagnostic imaging
• Laboratory and pathology services
• Anesthesiology and pre-operative assessment

How to refer

• Send the referral directly to the relevant department with a brief clinical summary
• Include relevant investigations, imaging, and any prior correspondence
• Note the level of urgency and the reason for referral
• Our patient care team will contact the patient within one working day to schedule

What the referring physician receives

• Confirmation of receipt of the referral
• Summary of the consultation and any investigations performed
• Clear treatment plan or recommendations
• Copies of relevant imaging and lab results where appropriate
• Notification of discharge back to the referring physician when treatment is complete

Continuity of care

Referred patients remain the responsibility of the referring physician for their ongoing general care. Our specialists focus on the specific clinical question being referred, and we communicate throughout — not just at the end. Where longer-term follow-up is needed at AlHayat Medical Center, this is always discussed with the referring physician in advance.
