Dr. Mai Salem heads the Laboratory Department at AlHayat Medical Center in Kuwait. Before taking on this role, she devoted much of her career to academic medicine, working as a lecturer in Clinical Biochemistry — a background that informs both the scientific standards she sets and the way she approaches diagnostic accuracy.

Since joining AlHayat Medical Center, Dr. Mai has focused on expanding the range of tests available in-house, introducing specialized diagnostic assays to ensure that patients can access the full scope of investigations they need, quickly and reliably, without relying on outside laboratories. The department provides comprehensive diagnostic support for all clinical teams, including:
